successful social media
Success is not something that comes easily. A wise man taught me that you had to work hard for things you want to see succeed and then work to help them remain successful. I’ve taken that to heart in my business. It’s easy to get lazy and chose to sit back and rely on hope to get you through, but I’ve learned in life that hope does not pay your bills. What pays the bills is hard work, determination and drive to succeed.
A marketing plan for a business is similar to that in many ways. You can just hope that your website will get thousands of hits, or that your keywords will show up on the first page of Google. It takes time to develop the right website, make the right tweaks, and decide on the right plan of action for marketing. A successful internet marketing plan will include 3 main components: 1- A well designed landing page with a clear call to action 2- the right promotion aspect (social media, paid advertising, press releases) and 3- Someone behind it to monitor and make adjustments. It’s not as simple as that, as those three components each require a significant amount of planning and creation.
The landing page- be it a Facebook landing page, a website landing page, or blog landing page needs to project a clear, crisp call to action. It needs to speak to your target audience and it needs to speak loudly. Is your target audience a young college student who loves music? You should have music, images, and graphics that are tailored to their taste. Is your audience an older group of people who might have trouble reading small fonts? You need large fonts, less distraction and clean, simple graphics. It’s all about the audience.
Your promotion can go in many different directions. You need to again, think about your audience and how you can best reach them. That young, college age audience is likely to be using Facebook and Twitter. So promoting this way is a great idea, but don’t underestimate the intelligence of your audience. If you’ve never used Twitter or Facebook for your business and then decide to use it to promote, your audience is likely to become suspicious. They are used to being spammed by Twitter accounts, and they know the signs to look for to see if someone using Twitter is genuine or not, and they can tell if it’s worth their time or if they should ignore it. Point being, make sure you build up your reputation ahead of time to give people a little more information about your business and who you are.
As for the third component to a successful marketing campaign, that’s perhaps the most difficult to find. You need to make sure the person managing your campaign- start to finish, is able to adequately perceive your target market and what your goals are. You need to make sure that person understands the audience and how to communicate with them. That’s where Insignia comes in. Choosing us to run your internet marketing campaign means you can stop running on hope and start seeing the results of your success.
